Recent Kentucky swimming graduates Anna Havens Rice and Zane Rosely have been awarded prestigious postgraduate scholarships from the NCAA, recognizing their academic and athletic excellence.
The NCAA annually awards 126 postgraduate scholarships to student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically and are in their final year of intercollegiate competition. These one-time, non-renewable scholarships of $10,000 are distributed three times a year, corresponding to each sport season (fall, winter, and spring). Each season, 21 scholarships are awarded to men and 21 to women for use in accredited graduate programs.
Anna Havens Rice, a native of Greenville, S.C., graduated from the University of Kentucky this spring with a degree in Chemistry and plans to attend medical school. Rice’s collegiate career is decorated with numerous academic and athletic honors. She is a two-time NCAA qualifier, a 2021 All-America honorable mention in the 400 IM, a two-time CSCAA Scholar All-America First Team selection, and a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-America awardee. Rice also holds top-10 times in four events at Kentucky.
Zane Rosely, from White Lake, Michigan, graduated with degrees in both Finance and Management this past spring. As the 2023-24 team captain, Rosely ranks inside Kentucky’s all-time top-10 in five events. He was an NCAA qualifier in 2021 and competed on the Wildcats’ 800 freestyle relay team at the 2023 NCAA Championships. Rosely is a three-time CSCAA Scholar All-America selection and a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree. This past season, he was named to the SEC Community Service Team and selected as one of Kentucky’s SEC Brad Davis Award Winners.
Rice and Rosely’s achievements in both the classroom and the pool have set a high standard for future Kentucky student-athletes, and their postgraduate scholarships will support their continued academic and professional pursuits.
