Kentucky baseball’s inaugural season at Kentucky Proud Park will feature a wide array of promotions and giveaways for fans in celebration of opening its doors to a new era for the program.
Big Blue Nation will have an opportunity to receive such giveaways as team trading card sets, a jersey tote bag, beach towel, and a patriotic-themed UK hat during Salute to Service weekend during the final home series of the season. Additionally, there will be TV raffles, t-shirt giveaway (April 16), and theme nights that include Bark in the Park (March 23), Star Wars (May 4) and Cinco de Mayo (May 5).
For each giveaway, quantities are limited and early arrival is recommended.
On opening day at Kentucky Proud Park, Tuesday, February 26, fans will receive an oversized inaugural game ticket. Once Southeastern Conference play begins on Friday, March 22, kids will be able to run the bases after Friday night’s after the game, play catch in the outfield on Saturdays and meet their favorite Wildcats during a postgame autograph session on Sundays.
During the Georgia series, which runs Thursday, March 28 through Saturday, March 30, baseball will join forces with Dance Blue and NEGU for Pediatric Cancer Weekend. The player will wear yellow ribbon stickers on their batting helmets and yellow wristbands to raise awareness.
The Cats open their season at Austin Peay on Feb. 15 and once again face one of the nation’s most difficult schedules with 24 games against preseason Top 25 opponents. The full 2019 schedule can be found here.
