Freshman outside hitter Anna DeBeer had 13 kills, three aces and three blocks to lead the No. 13-ranked University of Louisville to a 3-0 win over North Carolina to clinch the 2020 ACC Volleyball Championship Friday afternoon in Coral Gables.

The ACC title is the third in the last six seasons for the Cardinals (14-2, 12-2), and their second outright. Louisville shared the championship with Pitt in 2017 after winning it outright in 2015. Louisville also earned the ACC’s automatic qualification to the NCAA Championship with the win over North Carolina.

The Cardinals won 25-15, 28-26, 25-18 with .288 hitting and recorded eight blocks, six aces and survived 10 service errors. Anna Stevenson joined DeBeer in double digit kills with 11, hitting .588 with an ace and four blocks. Setter Tori Dilfer had 40 assists, adding three kills, and ace and eight digs. Alexis Hamilton had a match-high 18 digs.

UNC (10-7, 9-6) hit .080 with four aces and nine blocks and was led by Amanda Phegly’s seven kills and five blocks.

The Cardinals await their fate until the NCAA Selection show slated to reveal the 48-team field on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET on ESPNU with the entirety of the tournament to be held in Omaha, Neb.
