The Boy’s Sweet 16 featured many terrific players. There was no short of talent representing all 16 regions.
One player stood out from them all, Owensboro’s Aric Holman. A 6’9″ Forward who dominated both ends of the court and helped Owensboro cruise to the state title.
Holman has a great game and it hasn’t went unnoticed. Holman is ranked no. 94 in the nation and the no. 15 PF in the nation. After winning the title Holman said he’s attending prep school after he graduates. He has offers from UofL Cincinnati and other D1 schools. Holman has not officially visited any schools but his family are huge Louisville fans. Aric was congratulated by a Cincinnati assistant after cutting down the nets Sunday afternoon. Holman a Mr. Basketball finalist poured in 21 points, snagged 14 boards, and swatted 8 shots while altering many others. Opponents definitely knew where Holman was on The floor and hesitated to shoot in Holman’s presence.
Holman’s game was on display throughout the tournament. Holman is excellent on both ends of the floor and gives 100% every minute on the hardwood.
His offensive skills include high-flying dunks, soft touch around the rim, draining mode range and turnaround jumpers, and popping 3’s. Holman is an excellent passer as well especially his outlet pass after grabbing a board. Holman also is an excellent foul shooter. Holman converted many and 1’s or nailed both freebies at the stripe.
His defensive game speaks volumes. As mentioned he is a terror to opponents in the paint but his hustle really stood out diving for every loose ball and Holman goes up with both hands to grab rebounds.
Holman showed great leadership skills on the floor. Cheering on his teammates and keeping the team pumped after every moment.
