Knott Co Central falls to Calloway Co

Lexington, KY – The second day of the 2015 KHSAA Whitaker Bank Sweet 16 state basketball tournament ended in a barn burner as Calloway County defeated Knott County Central 73-68 in double overtime.  The game showcased Kentucky’s Mr. Basketball Camron Justice and Mr. Basketball finalist Parker Adams who put on a show.

In dramatic fashion Calloway County managed to pull off the victory 73-88 in double overtime behind Adams 31 points including 18 made free throws.

Even though Knott County Central shot a better percentage from the field and from deep the disparity at the line (42-17)  kept Calloway in the game and the win.Calloway County shot 18 free throws in overtime compared to Knott County Central’s 2.

Justice fouled out not helping the Patriots cause. Evan Hall wasn’t himself missing a short hook shot to take the lead in Double OT. After the miss the Patriots fouled hoping Calloway would miss. Calloway county poised hit both shots and extended the lead.

Justice balled out in his final high school game nailing contested jumpers and 3’s pouring in 39 points. He controlled the game until his fifth personal in overtime.

Calloway County took advantage and seized the opportunity by winning in double overtime.

Parker Adams took player of the game honors with 31 points,5 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Calloway County faces Bowling Green in the Quarterfinals Friday at 8 pm.
