Wildcats Win SEC Title In Style

Nashville, TN- The Kentucky Wildcats continued their amazing win streak today against #21 Arkansas Razorbacks 78-63 to go 34-0 on the season.

The game was filled with tough physical play and at one point 3 cats were sitting together in pain from the rough play of the Razorbacks.

Apparently there was trash talk in Rupp a few weeks back and Arkansas wished to play UK again but as always “be careful what you wish for”.

Willie Cauley- Stein was named MVP of the SEC tournament scoring 15, grabbing 10 boards, 2 blocks, and 2 assists.  “Those aren’t the nets we’re really looking to cut down,” junior forward Willie Cauley-Stein said. “It’s just a milestone. It’s just part of the process for us winning and everything, but we’re looking for something bigger. We’re looking to cut down a couple more nets in the tournament.”

The back court today was big for the Cats. Andrew Harrison had 15 points his twin Aaron 11 points and  6 assists and freshman Tyler Ulis had 8 points and 6 dimes. Booker only scored 3 and was 1 of 4 from downtown.

The frontcourt controlled the paint even with Karl Towns (8 pts 4 rbs) plagued with foul trouble. Trey Lyles was impressive  with 9 points and 7 boards and Marcus Lee and Dakari played valuable minutes on defense and helping the Cats dominate the paint.

Now the 34-0 Cats will be the overall number one seed and await their opponents as the NCAA announces who’s dancing and where.

Kentucky will play round one against Manhattan/Hampton winner in round 1 Thursday KFC Yum Center and continue the push for history and 40-0 and their 9nth title.
