Hunter Norton Joins the Louisville Women’s Soccer Staff

Hunter Norton has been named an assistant coach for the University of Louisville women’s soccer team, head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes announced on Wednesday.

“I am beyond thrilled to add Hunter Norton to our staff in a full-time capacity,” said Ferguson-Dayes. “He is an amazing young man who is very analytical, cerebral, detail oriented. He is constantly studying the game so he can become the best teacher/coach that he can be. Hunter has a keen eye in recruiting and has been able to identify quality young women who will fit in our system and help elevate our program. He is a tireless worker who is invested in the success of our young women and the University of Louisville. Hunter will be an excellent addition to our staff as he first perfectly with our vision for the future.”

Norton spent the last two seasons with the Cardinals as a volunteer assistant. He helped in all aspects of the program while developing the program’s social media presence.

“I am honored and humbled that a coach as well respected as Karen Ferguson-Dayes has chosen to bring me onto her coaching staff at the University of Louisville,” said Norton. “I will give the women’s soccer program here everything I have and look forward to the opportunity that lies ahead of us as we strive to become one of the top programs in the ACC. Given the energy, facilities, and resources that surround this program right now I am thrilled to be here and am excited about where we can go in the years to come.”

Prior to joining the Cardinals, Norton played four seasons at Georgia Southern University. He was a three -year captain and started in all 72 games of his career.

He was named to the South Conference (SOCON) All-Freshman team in 2010. He earned first team All-SOCON honors his sophomore an senior seasons, while earning second team honors his junior year.

Norton holds his NSCAA Advanced National Coaching Diploma. He also coaches with the Kentucky Fire Juniors since 2014.
