Raven Grant Leads Louisville Track & Field on First Day at the Music City Invitational

The University of Louisville track and field teams wrapped up the first day of competition at the Music City Invitational with one win and three top five finishes. Sophomore Raven Grant led the Cardinals with a win in the 200 meter dash.

“Raven Grant did a great job of finishing in the 200 meters,” said head coach Dale Cowper. “She didn’t get a great start but was able to use the finishing strength she has been working on to pick up the win tonight. I was also very pleased to see Renate van Tonder have her best series of the season in the triple jump. She was very consistent tonight with all three of her jumps over her previous season best.”

On the women’s side, Grant won the 200 meters with a time of 24.22. It was the second win for the sophomore in the event.
Dolly Nyemah finished third in the weight throw with a mark of 21.04/69-0 ½.

Rounding out the top five finishes was Javen Reeves with a fourth place finish in the high jump. Reeves cleared a mark of 2.07/ 6-9 ½ to lead the Cardinal men.
