Louisville Men’s Golf Finishes 12th at the Tiger Invitational

The University of Louisville men’s golf team shot an 8-over par 296 Monday at the Tiger Invitational to finish at 13-over 287-293-296=876 to close action in 12th-place at the Grand National Lakes Course.

Auburn won the tournament, but held off a late surge by Troy, who carded a 10-under 278 on Monday and finished at 280-299-278= 856, to win by five strokes. Missouri was the other squad finishing under par by carding a 7-under par 280-299-278=857.
After the second round was suspended due to darkness on Sunday, the 19-team field resumed play at 7:30 am and wrapped the round up around noon before beginning the final round.

Erik Dulik,who was tied for 26th, had a solid final round for the Cardinals by shooting an even par 72 to finish the tournament at a 2-over par 73-73-72=218. Keegan de Lange ended the final round in a tie for 31st-place by firing a 3-over par 72-73-74=219.

Simon Zach, who entered the final round in sixth place, fired a 4-over par 76 on Monday. He opened the tournament with a 4-under par 68, but followed with rounds of 78 and 76 to tie for 47th-place with a 6-over par 222. Nicolas Platret fired a 74-76-74==224 to tie for 61st, while Trevor Johnson rounded out the top five by tying for 83rd-place by shooting 80-71-79=230.

The Cardinals return to action at the Kingsmill Invitational in Blacksburg, Va., on March 19-21.
