The Thomas More College women’s lacrosse team fell, 13-9, to Franklin College tonight (Tuesday, April 11, 2017) in an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) match at Faught Stadium in Franklin, Indiana.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the ORLC and with the win, the Grizzlies improve to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the ORLC.
Sophomore Jeni Hall (Lebanon, Ky./Marion County) led the Saints in scoring with four goals as she scored at 24:20, 16:39 and 13:31 in the first half and added another goal at 17:51 in the second half. Senior Tori Liles (Tollesboro, Ky./Lewis County) recorded a hat trick as she scored at 26:50 and 20:02 in the first half and 21:47 of the second half. Senior Erika LaRosa (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) scored at 8:03 of the second half and junior Theresa Guye (Evendale, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) scored her first collegiate goal at 3:56 in the second half.
Sophomore Gillian Casey (Lexington, Ky./Lexington Catholic) played all 60 minutes in goal and recorded six saves.
Senior Christy Smith (Washington Courthouse, Ohio/Washington) led the team in shots with five, while Hall and LaRosa led the team in draw controls with three each. Senior Megan Klever (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview) led the team in ground balls with three.
Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (April 15) when it hosts Washington & Jefferson College at 1 p.m. at BB&T Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
