WKU Track & Field’s Seged Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

WKU Track and Field standout Maor Seged was named to the 2017 Conference USA All-Academic Team, as announced by the league office Wednesday morning.

A 2017 C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll honoree, Seged was named to the 12-person C-USA Men’s Track and Field All-Academic Team after producing a 3.51 GPA.

The Electrical Engineering major has also starred on the track for WKU as he was a member of the Conference USA championship 4×400 relay team at the 2017 Outdoor Championships. Seged also competed in the 400m hurdles where he finished in fifth place with a time of 53.45.

Seged’s spring season has consistently been made up of top-five finishes in the hurdles. The Israel native had his best finish in Louisville at the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational where he posted a 53.53, finishing in second place.

The sophomore is set to compete in the 400m hurdles for WKU at the 2017 NCAA East Preliminaries in Lexington for a chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Seged is one of 10 Hilltoppers who will be competing at the meet hosted by Kentucky this weekend. Two men’s relay teams will also be participating – 4x100m and 4x400m.
