Head coach Amy Tudor has announced the addition of Jordan Vorbrink to the WKU Softball program following the outfielder’s two seasons at Louisville. The Louisville, Ky., native is eligible to compete immediately in the upcoming 2017-18 campaign.
“We are thrilled to add Jordan Vorbrink to our roster in the upcoming 2017-18 season,” Coach Tudor shared. “Vorbrink brings athleticism and experience. She is a left-handed outfielder who has the opportunity to make an impact in our line up immediately.”
In her rookie season with the Cardinals in 2016, Vorbrink started 15 games while appearing in 24. She posted a .244 batting average that included 10 hits, seven of which were for extra bases. The true lefty registered three doubles, three triples and a home run in addition to nine RBI for a .537 slugging percentage. Action came primarily in the form of right field or first base during her first year of collegiate competition.
This past season, Vorbrink again started 15 games while playing in 26 for the Cardinals. As a sophomore, the Mercy Academy graduate hit .143 with four knocks in 28 at bats. Vorbrink registered three runs scored as well as an RBI.
Louisville finished 31-19 on the 2017 campaign after a 35-16 showing the year prior.
Vorbrink is the daughter of Greg and Sue and will continue to work towards her bachelor’s degree in business.
The rising junior is the seventh signee in Tudor’s incoming class. Joining Vorbrink on The Hill in the fall of 2017 are Madeline Bowlds (Utica, Ky.), Annabelle Brown (Rainsville, Ala.), Taylor Graven (Greene, Iowa), Shelby Nunn (Bowling Green, Ky.), Kendall Smith (Bowling Green, Ky.) and Jordan Thomas (Lebanon, Ky.).
