EKU MBB SET TO HOST RIVAL MOREHEAD STATE ON MON NIGHT

The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team will host rival Morehead State in its home and Ohio Valley Conference opener on Monday night at McBrayer Arena. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

The game will air live on ESPN+. The radio broadcast of the game can be heard locally at 100.7 FM and worldwide at EKUSports.com.

WHAT TO KNOW

EKU (3-1) never trailed in a convincing 95-78 win at USC Upstate last Wednesday in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The Colonels shot a season-best 53.7 percent (36-of-67) from the field and 41.7 percent (10-of-24) from three-point range.

Sophomore Michael Moreno matched his career highs in points (18), three-pointers (four) and assists (five) in the win at USC Upstate.

Junior Jomaru Brown – recently named to the Lou Henson Award Watch List – posted 18 points, four assists and three rebounds in Wednesday’s victory.

Junior Tre King currently ranks fourth in the OVC in scoring (18.0 points-per-game), third in rebounding (9.5 rebounds-per-game) and second in steals (2.8 steals-per-game).

Wendell Green Jr. ranks third among all freshmen in the country in total assists (23).

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

Morehead State (1-3) fell at Ohio State, 77-44, last Wednesday in Columbus.

The Eagles’ lone win of the season was a 69-61 victory over Arkansas State on November 29 in Morehead.

Freshman Johni Broome paces Morehead State offensively, scoring 11.3 points-per-game and grabbing 7.3 rebounds-per-game.

This is the 195th meeting between EKU and Morehead State. The Colonels lead the all-time series, 111-83, and swept the series with the Eagles last year.

Following Monday night’s showdown, EKU stays at home to host Transylvania on Saturday, December 12.
