Northern Kentucky’s Lindsey Duvall was named the Nike® Horizon League player of the week for her exemplary performances against Purdue Fort Wayne this weekend, the league office announced Monday.

“The thing I love most about Lindsey is her work ethic and appreciation for the game,” said NKU head women’s basketball coach Camryn Whitaker. “She plays hard on every possession and just wants to do whatever she can to contribute to the team’s success. It’s very rewarding as a coach to see her having fun and playing with confidence!”

Duvall led NKU to a pair of wins over the weekend against the Mastodons, averaging 19 points between the two contests. In Saturday’s 83-48 drubbing, she piled on 18 points for the Norse at an 8-for-13 (62 percent) shooting rate from the floor to go with six boards. The redshirt-junior was just as impressive a day later, putting together a 20-point, six-rebound performance on 8-for-15 (53 percent) shooting in an 80-63 victory.

Since joining the Norse this season after transferring from Louisville, Duvall has been exceptional. She has scored in double figures in every game this season, has registered a trio of double-double performances and leads NKU in points (14.5) and rebounds (8.1). She has already surpassed her season totals in points, rebounds and assists from a year ago.

The Norse will return to action in the new year when they battle Cleveland State in a pair of matchups on Jan. 1-2 at BB&T Arena. Each game will tip-off at 12:00 p.m. and will stream on ESPN3.
