The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) projects Kentucky State football to finish fourth in the West Division and Darrell Dorris Jr. to the 2022 SIAC Football Preseason Second Team.
The 2022 Preseason ranking has the 2021 SIAC Football Champions Albany State as the favorite and Benedict projected second in the east division. In the west division Miles is the favorite with Lane projected to finish second.
Although the Thorobreds finished the 2021 season 4-2 in conference play and 3-1 in divisional play behind runner-up Miles, Kentucky state is projected to finish fourth.

2022 SIAC Preseason Team Honors
After a strong 2021 season tallying over 40 solo tackles and 20 assisted tackles Dorris Jr. made the 2022 SIAC preseason second team.
2022 SIAC Football Media Day Central
The 2022 SIAC Football Media Day is scheduled for Wednesday, July 13 in Atlanta, Georgia at the College Football Hall of Fame. Kentucky State will be represented by linebacker Jaylen Johnson, running back Christopher Coneway and assistant coach Paul Hamilton.

2019: Played in 7 games, earned 8 solo tackles and 8 assisted for a total of 16 tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 3 assisted tackle for loss.
