Louisville Baseball Downs Miami (Ohio) in Fall Exhibition

The University of Louisville baseball team outscored Miami (Ohio) 12-3 on Sunday in its first exhibition of the fall season. The game was played at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio. 

The Redhawks scored a run in the top of the first inning on Sunday, but the Cards tied it up in the second and took the lead in the third and never looked back. 

Logan Beard had a strong day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double, home run and three RBIs. Christian Knapczyk, Will Cook and Eddie King, Jr. each had a pair of hits as well. 

Jack Payton helped break the game open with a bases-clearing double as part of a six-run frame in the middle innings. Payton drove in four on the afternoon. 

Tate Kuehner struck out six batters over three scoreless innings of work. Will Koger, Kaleb Corbett, Evan Webster, Kade Grundy, Justin West, Tucker Biven and Patrick Forbes all turned in scoreless outings as well. 

Louisville will play its final fall exhibition next Sunday against Purdue. First pitch at Jim Patterson Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
