The Game
The Murray State women’s basketball team will travel to the heart of the Commonwealth Friday to take on Kentucky at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT.

Series At A Glance
Friday will be the 21st meeting between Murray State and Kentucky, with the Wildcats holding a decisive 18-2 advantage in the series. Kentucky has won each of the last 16 meetings in the overall series and the last eight in Lexington, where the Racers have won just once.

Scouting The Wildcats
Kentucky is currently 7-3 on the season and is coming off of a loss Sunday to 24th-ranked Louisville in Lexington, 86-72.

Robyn Benton currently leads the Wildcats in scoring with 15.3 points per game, while Jada Walker follows at 14.0 points per game. Meanwhile, Ajae Petty leads UK’s rebounding efforts at 6.2 boards per game with Maddie Scherr following at 5.2.

Kentucky currently averages 75.0 points per game on 44.0-percent shooting with 37.0 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, the Wildcats’ opponents are averaging 62.9 points per game on 38.9-percent shooting with 37.9 rebounds per game.

A Win Would…

A win Friday would be the Racers first win over the Wildcats in nearly 50 years. The Racers and Kentucky split their first four meetings, but the Racers have not won in the series since Mar. 2, 1973.

Nearly Automatic
Murray State is currently shooting 81.8-percent from the free throw line on the season, ranking them second out of all 350 Division I teams. Only Green Bay is shooting better from the charity stripe this season, doing so at an 87.8 clip.

Leading The Way
Statistically speaking, Murray State is currently among the top teams in the Valley this season. Of 25 major statistical categories, the Racers currently lead three, are in the top third in 11 categories and are in the top half in 20 different categories.

Shooters Gonna Shoot
Macey Turley is currently one of the most accurate 3-point shooters in the nation and is 19-for-35 on the year from downtown. At 54.3-percent, Turley is currently ranked sixth in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage.

Making Her Mark
Katelyn Young scored a career-high 32 points in Tuesday’s loss to Austin Peay. The outing marked the fourth 30-plus point performance of her career and her second in the past three games.
