Lipscomb Hands Louisville MBB Home Loss 75-67 – Cards Now 2-10

The Louisville Cardinals men’s basketball team suffered a tough 75-67 loss at home to the Lipscomb Bison on Tuesday. Despite a season-low 10 turnovers, the Cardinals were out-rebounded 40-26 and outscored 40-30 in the paint. Lipscomb’s methodical offense proved to be too much for Louisville to handle, as the Bisons scored several easy layups on backdoor cuts.

The Cardinals tried to fight back in the second half, with a 9-2 run to end the first half and a late surge that cut the deficit to four points with just over three minutes remaining. However, a rare turnover squandered their opportunity to complete the comeback.

Louisville was led by senior guard El Ellis, who had 24 points and six assists, while senior forward Sydney Curry contributed 12 points and seven rebounds. Redshirt junior forward Jae’Lyn Withers and freshman forward Kamari Lands each added eight points.

For Lipscomb, junior forward Derrin Boyd had a career-high 23 points and nine rebounds.

The Cardinals will look to bounce back in their next game, a Thursday matchup against NC State in Raleigh, North Carolina. The game will be televised on the ACC Network. Despite the tough loss, Louisville remains determined to keep working and fighting in the hopes of turning their season around.
