Kentucky Track & Field Dominates at Tiger Paw & Husky Classics

The University of Kentucky track & field teams had a successful day of competition on Friday, with a portion of the team competing at the Tiger Paw Invitational in South Carolina and another group of distance runners at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Washington.

Masai Russell continued her dominance in the hurdles, winning the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.94. Russell remains undefeated in hurdles races this season and her time of 7.94 was her fastest time in the competition. Yasmin Brooks also performed well, finishing sixth in the women’s 60m hurdles final with a time of 8.18.

Logan Coles had a standout performance in the men’s open weight throw, finishing third with a personal-best throw of 65-feet, 9-inches/20.04 meters. Michael Browning and Dennis Ohene-Adu also had impressive performances, placing fourth and fifth respectively with new personal bests. Jordan Anthony was sixth in the men’s 60m final with a time of 6.68.

In Seattle, Jake Allen had a strong performance in the open 3,000-meter competition, finishing seventh with a personal-best time of 8.01.22. The distance events at the Husky Classic continued on Saturday with the final event concluding at 5:50 p.m. ET (2:50 p.m. Pacific).

The Kentucky track & field team will continue to compete at the Tiger Paw Invitational on Saturday, with field events starting at 10 a.m. and running events commencing at 11:35 a.m. The final event is expected to begin at 3:45 p.m.
