Louisville Cardinals WBB Take on Clemson Sunday Afternoon ACC Clash

The University of Louisville women’s basketball team is gearing up for a showdown with the Clemson Tigers on Sunday, February 12th. The game, which was originally scheduled for a 6 p.m. tip-off, has been moved to 2 p.m. and will be streamed on ACCNX.

The Cardinals are coming off a thrilling fourth quarter comeback win over Virginia on Thursday, 63-53. After trailing by eight at halftime, Chrislyn Carr stepped up in the fourth quarter, scoring 12 of her 14 points to help lead the Cardinals to victory. Carr has been a key contributor off the bench, averaging 15.0 points, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals over the past three games.

The lineup change before the January 29th game against Syracuse has also paid off, as the new starting five is 3-0 since the change. Mykasa Robinson, who has thrived in her new starting role, had a team-high six assists and six points in the game against Virginia. In ACC games this season, Robinson leads the conference with a 3.1 assist to turnover ratio and has averaged 6.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 3.3 steals per game in the past three games she has started.

Clemson enters the game with a 14-12 record and a 5-9 record in ACC play. The Tigers are led by Amari Robinson, who is 10th in the ACC in conference games with 14.1 points per game and fifth with 7.0 rebounds per game. Clemson is known for their tenacious defense, ranking fifth in the ACC in three-point percentage defense and second in the conference with 10.0 steals per game.

This will be the 14th meeting between the two schools and the 10th time they have met as ACC foes. The Cardinals lead the all-time series 10-3 and are 10-0 against Clemson since joining the ACC in 2014-15. The Cardinals have won 10 straight games against the Tigers and are 3-1 all-time in games played in Louisville.

The game will take place at the KFC Yum! Center and will be broadcast on ACCNX with Jody Demling and Jessica Laemmle on play-by-play and analyst duties, respectively.
