In a thrilling Sweet 16 state tournament game, George Rogers Clark High School triumphed over North Laurel High School, 62-54. George Rogers Clark’s robust performance on the court led them to advance further in the tournament and showcase their skills against other top teams.

George Rogers Clark displayed their offensive prowess with a 53% field goal percentage (24-45), including a solid 46% success rate from beyond the arc (6-13). Their free throw percentage stood at 73% (8-11). North Laurel, on the other hand, shot 42% from the field (21-50) and 37% from the three-point line (7-19). Their free throw accuracy was slightly lower at 63% (5-8).

The game’s turning point came in the third quarter when George Rogers Clark took a commanding 22-point lead (50-28). North Laurel attempted a comeback, scoring 16 points in the final quarter, but it wasn’t enough to overtake their opponents.

North Laurel’s Reed Sheppard led his team with an impressive 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists. Ryan Davidson contributed 11 points and a team-high 6 rebounds, while Chase Rawlings and Brody Brock added 6 points each.
