The University of Louisville men’s basketball program announced on Wednesday the signing of highly-touted prospect Trentyn Flowers to a national letter of intent for the 2023 class. The 6-foot-8 guard is set to join the Cardinals after a successful run with Combine Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Trentyn Flowers, who is currently a junior, will be reclassifying into the 2023 class. UofL head coach Kenny Payne expressed his enthusiasm for the young star, saying, “Trentyn is one of the most talented young players – regardless of class – in the country. He’s a 6-8 guard who can score, rebound, pass, and defend, and he’s an elite athlete with a very good basketball IQ. He has a bright future in his game and has the discipline and work ethic to be a great basketball player. He’s as excited as we are for him to be a part of this basketball program.”

During his junior year at Combine Academy, Flowers averaged 16 points, six rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. He played a significant role in leading his team to a 37-5 record and the Phenom HoopState Championship title. Flowers shined in the championship victory over Winston-Salem Christian, recording 15 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.

Before joining Combine Academy, Flowers played his freshman season at Huntington Prep in West Virginia, where he averaged an impressive 20 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists per contest.

Flowers also made a name for himself on the AAU circuit last summer, averaging 16 points, eight rebounds, and three assists per game. His addition to the Louisville roster brings a new level of talent and excitement to the program, as fans and the coaching staff eagerly anticipate his arrival and contributions on the court.
