Louisville MBB Welcomes Juco Transfer Koron Davis

The University of Louisville men’s basketball program announced on Thursday the signing of junior college transfer Koron Davis for the 2023 class. The talented 6-foot-7 guard hails from Gary, Indiana and will be bringing his versatile skills to the Louisville roster, with two years of eligibility remaining.

Before joining the University of Louisville, Davis played at Los Angeles Southwest Community College, where he showcased his prowess on the court. According to UofL head coach Kenny Payne, “Koron is a multidimensional talent that can be effective in positions 1-3. He has a knack for scoring at all three levels while also being able to rebound and make plays for teammates at a high level. He possesses length and athleticism suitable for the ACC.”

During his sophomore season at LA Southwest, Davis, whose first name is pronounced “kuh-RON,” averaged an impressive 23.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. He shot 48% from the field, 33% from 3-point range, and made 187 of 230 free throws (81%). These stellar statistics earned him a ranking of third in the California Community College Athletic Association for points per game.

Before making a name for himself at LA Southwest, Davis played his freshman season at Paris Community College in Texas. There, he averaged 15.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, leading to Second-Team All-Region honors.

Davis’ basketball journey began at Bowman Academy in Indiana, where he was a high school standout and garnered multiple all-state honors. Now, as a member of the University of Louisville men’s basketball team, Davis is expected to make a significant impact on the court and help elevate the program to new heights.
