Mid-South Conference Honors Thomas More’s Mychal Grogan as Baseball Pitcher of the Week

The Mid-South Conference (MSC) announced their Baseball Pitcher of the Week this afternoon, and Thomas More Saints’ junior Mychal Grogan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) received the recognition for the third time in his career. Grogan’s outstanding performance on the mound has earned him this accolade and placed him among the conference’s elite pitchers.

On Friday afternoon, Grogan showcased his prowess during the game against the University of Pikeville. He threw a complete game, allowing just two hits and striking out 11 batters. In the 6-1 victory, Grogan conceded only one unearned run. This impressive feat marks Grogan’s third complete game of the season and his first nine-inning complete game. Remarkably, it is the second time this season that he has struck out 11 batters in a complete game effort.

Grogan’s overall performance this season has been nothing short of exceptional. He holds a 6-1 win-loss record and a 3.39 earned run average (ERA). With 63.2 innings pitched, Grogan leads the MSC in this category. Furthermore, he is tied for second place in the conference with six victories and three complete games. Grogan’s 62 strikeouts place him fifth in the MSC, while his 3.39 ERA ranks him eighth.

Fans of Saints baseball can look forward to more exciting action as the team returns to the field tomorrow afternoon. The Saints will face off against the Miami University-Hamilton Harriers in a 4:00 p.m. contest at Thomas More Stadium. With Grogan’s exceptional skill on display, the Saints are poised for a thrilling match-up against the Harriers.
