Kentucky MSOC No.3 in 2023 Preseason Rankings

The University of Kentucky’s men’s soccer team has been ranked third in the 2023 preseason men’s NCAA Division I college soccer rankings, as announced by United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday.

Coming off their most successful season yet in 2022, the Wildcats secured a final ranking of No. 6 after an undefeated regular season and a deep run into the Sweet 16. The team’s inaugural Sun Belt Conference season was marked by a standout record of 15-1-5, culminating in both regular-season title and conference championship victories. This impressive double win demonstrates the team’s competitive edge and sets high expectations for their upcoming season.

Looking ahead to the 2023 season, Kentucky is in a strong position with 11 members from the successful 2022 squad returning to Lexington. These experienced players, combined with 13 promising newcomers, make up a robust roster that is poised to tackle the challenges of the new season.

The Wildcats are set to kick off their preseason festivities on August 7. Fans will get their first look at the 2023 team in action during the home debut at the Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex. The Wildcats will face off against Southern Indiana in the first exhibition match of the preseason at 3 p.m. EST on August 13.

In addition to witnessing the on-field action, fans will have the chance to immerse themselves in the team spirit during Fan Day. The match will be free to attend, and fans will have opportunities for autographs and photos with the men’s soccer team following the contest. The community event promises to not only showcase the skill and cohesion of the 2023 squad but also to foster the strong bond between the Wildcats and their passionate fanbase.

Given their successful past season and promising roster, the Kentucky Wildcats are expected to make a significant impact in the 2023 NCAA Division I men’s soccer season. As they prepare to build on their previous achievements, the team’s No. 3 preseason ranking reflects their high potential and the anticipation for another memorable season.
