The excitement is building as the University of Louisville track & field teams prepare to host their sole meet of the indoor season at the highly anticipated PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational. Taking place on January 26-27 at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center, this two-day event is set to be a highlight in the world of indoor track and field.

Distinguished as one of only four meets in the United States and the sole university-hosted event included on the prestigious 2024 World Athletics Indoor Tour, the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational holds a bronze-level classification. The World Athletics Indoor Tour, established in 2016, aims to elevate the profile of indoor track & field, providing a platform for top-tier competition outside of World Championship events.

Action-packed days on both Friday and Saturday will kick off at 10:00 a.m., featuring simultaneous track and field events. The meet showcases combined events, with the women’s pentathlon scheduled for Friday and the men’s heptathlon spanning the full two days.

Admission to this premier event is free, and parking is available on-site for a $5 charge. Detailed information, including a comprehensive schedule of events, can be accessed [here](insert link).

With over 25 schools participating, including seven from Power Five conferences, the meet promises a high level of competition. Athletes competing in the professional ranks will also have the opportunity to showcase their skills unattached.

The Louisville men’s squad, entering the meet ranked No. 22 in the USTFCCCA National Ratings Index, is poised to make a statement. Joining other top-ranked teams, such as Texas Tech’s leading men’s team, the Cardinals are ready to shine on their home turf.

Noteworthy athletes to watch include Trey Allen, who leads the nation in the men’s high jump with a remarkable mark of 2.24m (7-4.25). Jake Burkey and Jeremiah Willis, both boasting top-15 national marks in the men’s long jump, add to the Cardinals’ impressive lineup.

As the University of Louisville track & field teams gear up for the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational, fans and enthusiasts can anticipate thrilling performances and fierce competition at this premier indoor track and field event.
