The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team, in collaboration with the Atlantic Sun Conference office, unveiled its 11-game conference schedule for the 2024 season. The slate, commencing in mid-September, features six home games at the EKU Soccer Field.

This marks the fourth year of EKU’s tenure in the ASUN Conference, during which the Colonels have consistently secured spots in the conference tournament. The complete 2024 schedule, encompassing non-conference matchups, will be disclosed in the forthcoming weeks.

The Colonels will kick off ASUN play with a home fixture against Lipscomb on September 19, followed by an away encounter against longstanding rival Austin Peay on September 22.

Returning to Richmond, EKU will host Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson on September 26 and September 29, respectively, concluding the month with a home doubleheader.

Transitioning to October, the Colonels will embark on road trips to Central Arkansas and North Alabama on October 3 and October 6, aiming to maintain their competitive edge against familiar opponents. Notably, five of EKU’s initial six adversaries qualified for the conference tournament in the previous season.

EKU will then welcome ASUN’s latest entrants, West Georgia and Queens, on October 10 and October 13, highlighting a pivotal juncture in the campaign. Seeking redemption from their previous loss to Queens in the ASUN tournament, the Colonels are poised for an assertive performance.

Subsequently, EKU will journey to Duval County for clashes against Jacksonville and North Florida on October 17 and October 20, respectively, marking their inaugural encounters with these opponents as ASUN members. With a promising track record against the travel partners since joining in 2021, the Colonels aim to extend their dominance.

Closing out the regular season with Homecoming and Alumni Weekend, EKU will host in-state rival Bellarmine on October 26. This home fixture signifies a departure from the previous two years, during which EKU traveled to Louisville. The Colonels, separated by a mere 83 miles, seek to capitalize on their home advantage against the Knights.

As the 2024 ASUN Championship looms in late October, EKU anticipates its fourth consecutive tournament appearance. Notably, the Colonels’ impressive performance in the semifinals during their inaugural two seasons underscores their competitive prowess in the league.

With a roster boasting 21 returning student-athletes, including ASUN All-Conference selections Nerea de Diego, Marah Krick, and Paula Herranz, along with a highly touted nine-member freshman class, EKU is primed for another season of success.
