WKU WGolf Concludes Record-Breaking Season at NCAA Regional

WKU Women’s Golf bid farewell to a remarkable season as they wrapped up their campaign at the NCAA Regional hosted by Michigan State. Junior Catie Craig, in her final round, displayed resilience and skill, capping off her collegiate journey with a memorable performance.

Final Round Performance

Craig exhibited composure in the final round, carding a 5-over 77 at the East Lansing Regional. Throughout the round, she maintained consistency, securing pars on 12 of 18 holes and adding a birdie to her tally on the par-72, 6,325-yard Forest Akers Golf Course.

Historic Season

Craig’s solid performance in the tournament concluded a historic season for herself and the WKU Women’s Golf Program. The team’s season was marked by significant achievements, including two victories and an impressive nine top-three finishes out of 10 tournaments. Craig’s individual success earned her an at-large bid to the regional, where she showcased her talent as the 74th ranked golfer in the nation.

Family Ties and Tying for 58th

In a heartwarming twist, Craig’s tie for 58th place in the field saw her sharing the spot with her sister, Caroline, who competes for the Indiana Women’s Golf Team. Their parallel journey in the tournament adds a unique familial bond to the competitive atmosphere.

Coach Adam Gary’s Leadership

Under the guidance of Head Coach Adam Gary, the WKU Women’s Golf Team soared to new heights.
