Caverna HS Coed Varsity Bowling Ties Russell Co HS 6-6

by Brad Phipps – The Colonel Bowlers were in action today as they traveled to Russell Springs to take on the Lakers. The teams wound up tied at the end of the matches but the Caverna Girls remained undefeated taking a 5-0 victory over the Lady Lakers. The boys did not fare as well taking another tough loss 1-6.

On the boys side the Colonels were led in the first head to head match by TJ Moulder. He posted 173 in the game. He was followed by newcomer Josh Lindsey with a 124. The other boys team was paced by Justin Sturgeon with a 143. In the second game the boys were led by Justin Sturgeon with a 141. The boys had good Bakers matches with a 142 and a 130. The Colonels lost on total pins to wind up dropping the decision 1-6.

The girls were consistent on a tough set of lanes out lasting the Lakers in all of the matches. In the first head to head match the girls were led by Shiana Smith with a 147. The rest of the girls were steady posting consistent scores in the first match. The girls were led in the second match by Madison Patel with a 140. She was followed closely by Katy Phipps with a 136. The girls led the entire match and bowled well in the Bakers matches rolling a 145 in the first match. The girls swept the matches and total pins to take the overall match 5-0.

The Colonels are back in action on Thursday 11/19 at Ralphie’s Fun Center taking on Warren East.
