UK MGOLF’s Euler Within Striking Distance of individual Title at Hackler Championship

Senior Lukas Euler was the low scorer on the first day of the General Hackler Championship for the Kentucky men’s golf team on Monday, sitting at 9-under par and in third place. Euler fired rounds of 67 and 68 to pace the Wildcats to a 10-under day as a team on the opening day of the tournament.  
 
Euler dominated the back nine in each of the first two rounds, notching 11 birdies on the back half of the course. He sits two back from the lead going into the final round on Tuesday. Kentucky sits in fifth following the opening 36 holes. The Cats will tee off on Tuesday at 8 a.m. ET.
 
The course is set up as a par-72, 7,233-yard event. Thirteen teams make up the field and will play the final 18 on Tuesday. Play resumes at 7:40 a.m. ET on Tuesday. Live stats are available via Golfstat.com.
 
Senior Fred Allen Meyer had an impressive day, finishing 4-under and in a tie for eighth place. Meyer struggled in the first round, going 1-over par but excelled in round two, shooting 5-under. Eight birdies in round two highlighted his Monday.

Senior Max Mehles is within distance of another top-20 finish, as he is in a tie for 28th at even par. Mehles was 3-under after six birdies that pushed him into the top 10 after the end of the first round.

FreshmanCullan Brown is in a tie for 42nd at 2-over as an individual scorer. Junior Matt Liston registered a 149 and redshirt Zach Norris logged a 151 on the opening day. The duo is in a tie for 56th and 66th, respectively.
  
North Florida is the clubhouse leader after day one. Liberty and Wake Forest are tied for second. Louisville rounds out the top four of the leaderboard with the Wildcats just four shots of the Cardinals pace.
