The accolades keep rolling in for Kentucky golf star Alex Goff, even as his clubs cool off after a sizzling senior season. The Wildcat standout just added another feather to his cap, snagging a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large nod for the second straight year.

This latest honor isn’t just about Goff’s prowess on the links – it’s a tip of the hat to his work in the classroom, where he’s been as sharp as his short game. To even be in the running, these scholar-athletes need a GPA that would make most students green with envy – we’re talking a minimum 3.50 while teeing it up in at least 70% of team events.

Goff’s academic game is as solid as his golf swing. The Kings Mountain, N.C. native just wrapped up his MBA at UK, building on a finance degree he crushed with a eye-popping 3.899 GPA. Talk about earning your stripes in blue and white.

On the course, Goff’s final season was one for the Big Blue history books. He averaged a scorching 70.55, the best UK’s seen in at least three decades. That kind of play earned him All-American honors, making him just the 11th Wildcat to reach those heights.

The SEC took notice too, with Goff landing on the All-Conference Second Team and snagging Scholar Athlete of the Year honors at the conference tourney. By the time he hung up his UK spikes, Goff had etched his name atop the program’s record books with a career 71.45 scoring average.

With numbers like these on and off the course, don’t be surprised if Goff makes a run at Academic All-America honors when those are announced in July. For now, this Wildcat’s academic and athletic double threat is looking more and more like a hole-in-one for Kentucky.
