Basketball’s Not Dead

After Duke won the NCAA title hoops junkies throughout the U.S. are mourning the end of basketball and wrongfully so.

Basketball is alive and always will be. Granted your favorite college team won’t be on the tube but one of the programs most talented recruits may be playing ball in your own backyard.

Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour sponsor and showcase the upper echelon with AAU basketball programs.

On any given weekend these programs will invade a city and play for pride, exposure, and scholarships.

The emergence of AAU basketball helps showcase the most talented ballers and gives hoops junkies a weekend full of eye candy and diaper dandies.

From the 2nd grade up to 17 and under, players grind to become the next D1 recruit or a blip on a coaches radar.

AAU helps players accomplish this by traveling to larger cities, playing multiple games, and battling against the same level of talent or skill set.

This is not your regular high school game either. The intensity an AAU game exhibits is extraordinary. The squeaking of sneakers, proud full grunts, dissatisfied yells, and rattling rims will fill your senses on every possession.

From high-flying dunks, lay ups, deep 3’s, and defense these hoopers get mad looks from some of the best recruiters, scouts, and college coaches in the nation.

AAU features a heart racing pace with spectacular athletes and is one the most exciting styles of basketball played today.  This style allows players to showcase their full array of talents as well as develop new ones.

AAU not only lets a player develop on the court but off the court as well. These programs and coaches help instill values into these young men and women while allowing them to play a game they love.

As a hoops junkie I love to see talent but as a human being I love to see talent succeed.

That my friend is the game of basketball we call life.

Basketball’s Not Dead.

Not Even Close!
